I was fortunate enough to have my first hip replacement 16 years ago, at the age of 23.

Since then, I've had a total of five replacements and revisions, and it's because of that surgery that I am now able to make my way to Paris under my own steam.

Once again, I am cycling from London to Paris to raise some much needed money for Action Medical Research.

AMR played a crucial role in developing hip replacement surgery, the polio vaccine in the UK, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, along with many more vital projects.
